Russian diamond miner Alrosa reports it has diamond reserves of 630.6 million carats. The figure includes both proven and probable reserves in Russia.
Alrosa, the world's largest diamond producer by volume, published on Wednesday the results of an audit of its mineral reserves and resources. Alrosa said its JORC-compliant reserves have an average grade of 1.31 carats per ton.
It also reported resources of 968 million carats, 68 percent of which were of the measured and indicated categories.
Alrosa did not report its at what rate it intends to mine the reserves.
The Australasian Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) Code for Reporting of Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves is a widely accepted standard for reporting exploration results, mineral resources and ore reserves.
